Help and advice for parents, carers and friends
If your child or someone you are close to has been sexually abused or raped, you may be feeling confused, upset and unsure of how you can help them. However, your response to their disclosure will be instrumental to their recovery. It is important to:
- Believe them
- Support them
- Reassure them that it is not their fault
No-one deserves to be sexually abused or raped – the fault is always with the abuser.
