Concerns about Sexuality
Sometimes, boys who have been sexually abused may worry about their sexuality, for example, if their body responded in some way to the abuse, does this mean they are gay? It is normal for the body to respond to stimulation, but paedophiles often use this fact and say that the victim must have enjoyed it. This can create further confusion around sexuality for boys who have been sexually abused. However, the author, Mike Lew, believes that sexual abuse does not cause a person to be ‘straight’ or ‘gay’ but it usually leads the person who has been abused to have confused feelings about his sexuality.
Abusers don’t target gay boys, they target any boys.
