Sexual Health
The main thing to remember about having sex is whether you want to or not. If you feel in any way pressured you have a right to say NO. If you are over 16 and are with somebody that you love and trust and you feel ready, then sex can be a very positive and healthy experience.
Always remember to use a condom to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, as many of these diseases can affect you for the rest of your life. If you are thinking about having sex, then there are young people’s clinics where you can get contraception and advice on how to have safe sex.

Sexual Problems
Sometimes people who have been sexually abused or raped find it difficult to enjoy a healthy sexual relationship. This is very understandable, and counselling may be able to help you sort through your feelings about sex.
