UPFRONT. A new project offering young people aged 11 to 19 living in the rurally isolated Lizard Peninsula the opportunity to access health information services. Connexions provides Information, advice, guidance and personal support for all 13 – 19 year olds. Their purpose is to help engage all young people in learning and work. All 13 – 19 year olds have access to Connexions, in school, colleges, Connexions centres and youth and community venues. Connexions Personal Advisers can give information, advice and support about careers, education courses, training and jobs and all the issues facing young people on health, benefits, housing and relationships.

Young People Cornwall (YPC)
SATURDAY CLUB
Working in partnership with the Devon and Cornwall Police and Cornwall Sports Alliance, this scheme allows young people, aged 8 -13, living in and around Truro to experience a variety of different sporting and physical activities. Every Saturday, young people are picked up and taken by coach to a local leisure facility where they take part in activities run by qualified sports coaches. ZEBS
Work with young people aged 11-25 years. Young people can drop in for tea, a chat, a game of pool, music or art or issue based workshops, or to get one to one counselling, information and advice and the chance to get your views heard. They can respond to young peoples’ needs quickly, creatively and flexibly. They also work with local Truro schools and have a community cafe, staffed with young people on training placements. The training opportunities and activities on offer at Zebedees is organised to your individual needs by the youth work team. Due to the informal and supportive atmosphere at Zebedees, people who have had difficulties on training placements, or at college or school, often find help to maintain their places in school, or move on to further training improving their life and social skills. The Community Cafe is open from 9 to 4pm, Tuesday to Saturday and their evening young people’s drop-in sessions run from 6-9pm most weeknights.
